We were given one week to go back to a previous in-class animation assignment and create a polished animation.
The in-class assignment I chose was the “ripping by the seams” assignment. I wanted it to be noticeable with the color choices and changes that the box was coming apart.
Some of the in-class critiques were heavily focused on the length and variations of the stretching and ripping. The length of the rip could have been done a lot faster and when it’s ripping try to change up how it does it instead of showing that repeated.
The shakiness of the shape when it tries to rip apart helped make the feeling of it stronger.
When the red box his the wall the corner just gets cut off (this was supposed to be a squash within the box) if trying to go for the squash try changing the shape of the box while it impacts.
The rip is kinda choppy and could use more frames to make it a bit smoother.
These critiques were a big help in understanding what I could focus on for this when I go back to this or for future animations.
